I am retired from a dream job as an analyst for a global trading company, where I worked from my home in northern Baltimore County and reported to our USA HeadQuarters directly catty-corner from Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens in New York City. Our global headquarters were located in Hong Kong. This gave me the best of all worlds, remote supervision, a bucolic setting for my home office, high energy collaboration with staff from two of the most dynamic cities on earth, as well as other major cities around the world. My work took me all around the country and to China. I would have liked to have seen Europe, but that was not in the cards for me. Toward the end of my career, I managed the deployment of RFID technology among the world's largest retailers including, JC Penney, Kohls, Walmart, Macy's and others. This cutting edge technology is allowing brick and mortar stores to redefine the role in the supply chain as they create a blended purchasing experience that included both on-line and in-store shopping experiences for the tech-savvy retail customer. Since retiring I find myself drawn more and more toward writing. With such a broad range of interests, it seems like a blog might serve my needs best. I don't expect I will have trouble writing, but, being a bit of a recluse, I am not sure how people will find me. Still, believing that each journey begins with a first step I have launched this site.
